NYE - KAOS.

Wowwwwwww!!

Where to start.... firstly a huge shout to everyone for 2009 - im sure yesterday was eventful for everyone in one way or another.

Hold tight Addis, Cash, Smart Promotions and the whole Finesse crew who were in session. We had footage for days from last night - but due to having a mash-up video camera DVDs, its all been lost, gutted. But im going to attempt explaining the night as best I can....

Enough respect to the KIG family - see you man @ 'ROADBLOCK' (29/01/09).

Lets get to it, as you know I was playing at the biggest rave in the Midlands - 'Do You Mind', Leicester, Zanzibar. As expected.. it was a total sell out for Mr. Promoter Man!

Rewind to Approx 8pm:

I got together with a few of my people as we hit Leicester, and there was one stop which had to be made..










Approx 7.45pm: Nandos #1 is officially shut due to 'Running out of Chicken' - Speechless.

Approx 8.00pm: We dash to Nandos #2 in the city (not highcross), and are greeted by the manager who tells us they are CLOSED...3 minutes ago!!








But after explaining the situation and the fact we've drove from out of town - he kindly hooked us up a killer plate with some serious discount - so big shout to the management there...

Approx 10.45pm: Turn up to the club, and as expected its a total mess of a situation (as with most huge raves), a million DJs, not enough rooms open, no one to sort out the problem.

Now as a DJ on NYE whos travelling on road and needs to be elsewhere in the night... im concerned with a few things:

1) Ripping down the set...
2) .....












Approx 10.57pm: Now the promoter is keeping the main room as funky house all night (Where is the Bashment & Hip-Hop?), and room 2 as bassline. My man Footloose (1Xtra) was just finishing his set, so I took it apon myself to just jump on and do my thing straight after him (while the other DJs where still trying to find room 3). Handled the set, keepin it funky for 30mins and smashed it nicely. Mike 'Ruffcut' Lloyd then took over service and it was a wrap...

Approx 11.45 - 12.15am: Now im still at the venue (explained below). It hits 2009 and the DJs decide they are switching over, and the next guy is having some trouble with his serato, so we see in the new year BUT dont have any music for a few, until finally 'You Wot' gets everyone amped for 09' - it was pretty serious!!!

While on the outside....

TOTAL MADNESS....










Not enough people got let into the venue quick enough and cut a long story short, a certain number of guys tried rushing the door - which resulted in a total lock-in for about fifteen minutes. As you can imagine its total koas outside and I had to hold tight before I could get back to the car. Sorry to all my people who were waiting to get in and texting my phone, I couldn't help!

Lets hope the police do the job correctly next time....

Approx 2am - 3am: Bubbley Bubbley, the KIG man dem totally smashed the live performance, and blessed me and crew with some killer video clips, which unfortunately have been lost. You will see these guys ripping down shows across the UK this year - ITS ALOT!!!!!

Party Done - Eventful to say the least, but it was still the BIGGEST rave in the Midlands, and the DJs caused some damage in all the rooms. Big shout to everyone that reached.

Its just the start of the year.
